Problem:           The ‘Request for Outsourcing’ process at a Toyota parts manufacturing facility was slowing down production.  Employees had to physically transport the paperwork to the appropriate personnel. The approval process involved several individuals. This included the department manager, a production systems development employee, an accounting employee, individuals in quality control and purchasing, and the plant manager. At times, the paperwork would sit on one individual’s desk for extended periods of time.

Solution:          A technical consultant from Arden’s Application Services Group worked to replace the time consuming paper process with an electronic solution.  As a result there are no more document transporting trips.  The approval process moves more efficiently due to automated reminder e-mails.  Not only has the process become more efficient, but the requestor now has the ability to monitor the process more effectively.

Problem:          An international paper company’s facility experienced considerable machine down time and lost monies due to the improper coding, illegible or lost paperwork.

Solution:          A technical consultant from Arden’s Application Services Group designed an electronic database to assign responsibility for and tracking of subsequent problems with machines. The Plant Manager reported that the plant employees are able to complete the forms more easily.  Additionally, the electronic routing allows the process move along much more quickly and efficiently than in the past.
